Syouryu is the company’s own brand of Shimatani Shokuro Studio, which specializes in producing temple dumplings since its inception in Meiji 42.
In our workshop, there are three “hun craftsmen” less than 10 people nationwide, squeezing the plate by “hitting with a gold bow”, preparing the roundness, and tuning the sound to produce the can.

Suzugami is often purchased with Koro. Koro is a roller used to roll or straighten Suzugami easily.

Suzugami can be bent softly though it is a plate made of metal. Unlike an ordinary tin plate, Suzugami is compressed and extended many times with rhythmical hammering to decrease the degradation by skillful craftsman. Suzugami can be folded and bent like origami to form any shapes as you want without breakage.
